Elections are scheduled Wednesday for delegates to the California Senior Legislature from the Santa Monica Bay area.
Senior citizens 60 or older who live in Santa Monica, Malibu or the South Bay and are registered voters are eligible to participate.
The voting will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Joslyn Hall in Lincoln Park, 7th Street and Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica.
Each year, 120 senior citizens take part in the California Senior Legislature, meeting in Sacramento during the summer recess of the regular state Senate and Assembly.
The senior citizens discuss issues involving the elderly, such as nursing home reform, nutrition and crimes against old people, and recommend laws they would like to see on the books.
