P.M. BRIEFING : U.S. Firm Joins Nissan in a First

MILFORD, Ohio — Structural Dynamics Research Corp. and Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., the big Japanese auto maker, announced today they have formed a joint company to provide engineering consulting services in the Far East.
The joint venture marks the first time Nissan has teamed up with an overseas company to launch a new business activity, the announcement stated.
Nissan owns 70% of the new company called ESTECH Corp. and SDRC owns 30%. Kinji Shono, general manager of Nissan’s Business Development Office, has been named president of ESTECH. Additional staff members will be supplied by both firms.
ESTECH, to be based in Yokohama, Japan, will provide engineering consulting and problem-solving techniques related to product design and manufacturing. Initially, the majority of services will be conducted for Nissan.
