Deaths : Artist Elaine de Kooning Dies at 70

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — Abstract artist and teacher Elaine de Kooning died Wednesday of lung cancer. She was 70.
Her works are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, and are featured in other institutions throughout the country. She was married to artist Willem de Kooning and held professorships at the University of New Mexico, University of Pennsylvania and Yale University.
