IN BRIEF : Washington Lands Pasadena Player

SEATTLE — The Washington Huskies landed one football player, but lost another.
Charles Mincey, a cornerback from Pasadena City College, has told the Huskies he plans to sign a letter of intent Feb. 8 to play football for Washington.
But Glen Cavanaugh, a 6-foot-4, 265-pound lineman from Gonzaga Prep High School in Spokane, said he will attend Stanford University, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported today. Washington and Washington State both recruited Cavanaugh.
Mincey, who prepped at Los Angeles’ Dorsey High School, also was recruited by UCLA, USC, Pittsburgh and Iowa State.
The Huskies rarely recruit junior college football players. They’ve signed only six transfers, three of them kickers, in the last seven seasons.
