* Xscribe announced Thursday that it will lay off 20 employees and eliminate four other positions in a bid to “streamline operations and cut operating costs.” Xscribe is a manufacturer of computer-aided transcription devices for court reporters.
In early December, the company laid off 50 full-time and 22 temporary workers, a move that reduced payroll to 275 workers. Company officials then said that the layoffs were necessitated by delays in volume shipments of the new Magnum line of products.
