Deficit: ‘Why No Outrage?’

It is ironic that President Reagan in the new budget proposal suggests cuts in several major social programs such as Medicare and the elimination of scores of others, while a few days earlier recommended a 50% pay hike for himself, for members of the Congress, for high-ranking federal officials, and for federal judges. This reveals the social philosophy of the President and his inner circle.
