Ride the High Country (Channel 5 Monday at 1:30 a.m.): The mellow, much-loved 1962 Western for which Sam Peckinpah managed to persuade Randolph Scott and Joel McCrea to face the cameras one last time. (2:00)
1900 (Z Monday at 11 p.m., completed Tuesday at 11 p.m.): The uncut 5 1/2-hour version of Bernardo Bertolucci’s 1977 epic attempt to trace Italian political history of the first half of the 20th Century through the lives of two friends, landowner (Robert De Niro) and peasant (Gerard Depardieu), emerges as a stupendous achievement, scarcely flawless but original and impassioned.
Play Misty for Me (Channel 13 Saturday at 2 p.m.): This sleek 1971 film marked Clint Eastwood’s assured directorial debut in a suspense thriller about a Monterey Bay deejay (Eastwood) stalked by a deranged fan (Jessica Walter). (2:00)
