Honeywell Inc. said it wants to sell its semiconductor operation in Colorado Springs, Colo., as part of its plan to concentrate on its core businesses. The unit manufactures custom and semi-custom integrated circuits for the computer merchant market, as well as for Honeywell’s internal needs and select military customers. The Colorado Springs operation is part of the company’s Solid State Electronics division, which also includes a research and development facility in Plymouth. Honeywell said it will transfer a limited number of fabrication technologies and products from Colorado Springs to Plymouth.
