Hollywood’s annual Christmas Parade tops a weekend best-suited for leftovers and football.
Tony Danza, who recently notched a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is the grand marshal of the 57th parade, which will be covered live by Channel 5 at 6 p.m. Sunday. Bob Eubanks and Lee Meriwether will call the action.
Two cable programs of note also hit the small screen Sunday. Michael Landon, Gloria Loring and Fred Travalena will try to capitalize on the holiday spirit of giving when they emcee a six-hour telethon to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation beginning at 4 p.m. on the USA Network.
HBO, meanwhile, kicks off its six-hour miniseries about the Philippine revolution that toppled Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos at 8 p.m. “A Dangerous Life” stars Gary Busey as an American journalist covering the four-day, bloodless coup that brought Corazon Aquino to power. The miniseries continues Monday and Tuesday.
