Lazers Play Tacoma at Forum Today

While cross-town football rivals UCLA and USC battle it out today at the Rose Bowl, the Lazers and the Tacoma Stars will be quietly going about their soccer business on the plastic grass in the Forum.
In its move to schedule more games on weekends “to boost attendance,” the Major Indoor Soccer League didn’t do too well by scheduling a game in Los Angeles at 1:30 p.m. today.
“If you think this is bad, wait until Saturday,” a Lazer publicist predicted during last Wednesday night’s game, the announced crowd of more than 3,000 being overblown at least in triplicate.
Regardless, the show must go on.
The Lazers (2-1) are coming off a 6-5 overtime loss to the Kansas City Comets. The Stars (0-3) seem to be living up to the coaches’ preseason prediction that they most likely will finish last.
