Top-ranked Notre Dame will accept an invitation to play in the Fiesta Bowl, scheduled for Jan 2 at Tempe, Ariz., probably against No. 4 West Virginia, Notre Dame athletic officials confirmed.
Athletic Director Richard Rosenthal announced the decision after meeting with Coach Lou Holtz and the Rev. William Beauchamp, vice president for athletics.
