Polish Airline Orders 1st Western Jets, 3 Boeings

NEW YORK — Poland’s national airline said today it will add three Boeing 767 wide-body jets to its fleet, its first non-Soviet aircraft, in a deal worth $220 million to Boeing Co. and General Electric Co., the engine supplier.
LOT Polish Airlines said the three jets would be used on flights between Poland and the United States and should help double its traffic between the countries as early as next year.
