United Farm Workers President Cesar Chavez has been released from Kern Medical Center after treatment for injuries suffered over the weekend when the handrail on his porch gave way and he fell about 8 feet to the ground. The union leader suffered a broken right wrist and bruises on his head, chest and back in the mishap at his home at UFW headquarters in Keene east of Bakersfield.
