The Final Days of the Fall Presidential Campaign

With Bush now defining his mandate as glibly as he’s defined his opponent, it’s easy to guess what’s in store for the nation: He’s going to clean up Boston Harbor, put doctors in jail for performing abortions, and execute an estimated 120,000 drug dealers (that’s 82 a day during a 4-year term). After accomplishing those politically impossible feats, he’s going to give working people a $20 tax break, cut the deficit with voodoo economics, and reappoint Robert Bork to the Supreme Court. Read my lips, George: “Get real.”
