Tenneco Inc. said it plans to sell its Louisiana Intrastate Gas Corp. pipeline business in a restructuring move prompted by last month’s $7.3-billion sale of Tenneco Oil Co. The Louisiana operation was purchased in 1985 for more than $500 million, but company officials did not disclose an expected sale price. LIG, an affiliate of Tenneco Gas Pipeline Group, operates about 1,900 miles of intrastate gas pipelines for deliveries into the industrial heartland of Louisiana.
