Today is Columbus Day, commemorating the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus in 1492. The holiday will affect some services.
STATE GOVERNMENT OFFICES: The Department of Motor Vehicles and other state offices will be closed.
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OFFICES: All federal offices will be closed.
MAIL DELIVERY: There will be no mail delivery and post offices will be closed.
COURTS: Federal courts will be closed. Orange County Municipal and Superior courts will be open.
BANKS: Some banks and savings and loans will be closed.
UNAFFECTED: Orange County public schools, city and county government offices and trash pickup.
