Suzanne Weil, programming chief at PBS since 1980, is resigning to become executive director of Robert Redford’s Sundance Institute, PBS President Bruce Christensen said Monday. Weil will leave the noncommercial TV network in early October and will take up her position with the Utah film institute on Feb. 1, he said. A replacement was not immediately named. Weil joined PBS in 1978 after working at the National Endowment for the Arts and the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.
