A Santa Clara County Transit District bus driver has been fired after being arrested for drunk driving while on duty, authorities said. Bruce E. Betner, 40, was arrested after his bus struck the rear of another bus at a stop, injuring nine passengers. Betner had an open bottle of wine in the bus, investigators in San Jose said, adding that his blood alcohol content was .07%. That was below the .10% level at which a person is considered legally drunk, but a prosecutor said his office could still attempt to prove a person’s driving was impaired below that limit.
