The rumored romance between Bruce Springsteen and his backup singer Patti Scialfa was all the rage in Barcelona, Spain--the newspapers reported gossip about hand-holding between the two--as Springsteen and the E Street Band pulled into town for their Wednesday night show. But 60,000 or so curious Spanish rock fans in Madrid got a four-hour show from the Boss and company that featured no funny business between Scialfa and Springsteen, who’s still married to Julianne Phillips. About 85,000 fans were expected to pack Barcelona’s Camp Nou Stadium for the final concert of Springsteen’s five-month “Tunnel of Love” tour, promoters said.
