Grambling to Play Howard in Whitney Young Game

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Grambling will play Howard in the Whitney M. Young Classic on Sept. 10 at Giants Stadium.
Yankee Stadium had played host to the college football game since 1971, except for 1974-75, when the ballpark was being rebuilt and the game was moved to Shea Stadium. The game cannot be played at Yankee Stadium on Sept. 10 because the Yankees are home against the Detroit Tigers.
Proceeds from the Young Classic are used for scholarships for the United Negro College Fund.
Howard won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship last season with a 9-1 record. Grambling was 5-6 and finished fifth in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
