County Team Wins in Volleyball Event

Sharron Casser of El Toro had 23 kills in two matches Friday as the Cal Juniors won twice in an international volleyball tournament at the University of Notre Dame.

Casser had 10 kills and 9 blocks as the Cal Juniors, a team from Orange County, defeated San Diego, 15-7, 15-7, 15-8, in the first match. Casser had 13 kills as the Cal Juniors defeated Las Vegas, 15-9, 15-3, 10-15, 15-9, in the second match.

The Cal Juniors won American pool play with a 4-0 record and will play South Korea tonight for the gold medal.
