Plans are under way to bring a 28-acre, seven-dealer auto mall to the city’s south side, possibly bringing in more than $1 million in additional revenue to city coffers.
A plan by Core Capital Corp. of Los Angeles to build the center on vacant land at the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and the Pomona Freeway was received by city officials last week. Core Capital officials estimate that the proposed Santa Anita Auto Center could generate 500 jobs as well as add funds to the city’s $7-million operating budget.
