A motorcyclist is being sought by sheriff’s deputies in connection with the killings last week of racing promoter Mickey Thompson and his wife, Trudy, who were gunned down outside their home in the San Gabriel Valley community of Bradbury.
Officials said Tuesday that the distribution at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Irwindale Avenue of flyers seeking information about the killings had resulted in reports from three people that a motorcyclist picked up a man who had been on a bicycle about 65 minutes after the 6 a.m. murders. The intersection is about three miles from the murder site.
According to sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Roger Hom, witnesses said the bicyclist was frantically waving for a ride when he was picked up by the motorcyclist, whom they could not describe.
Officials also said the reward for arrest and conviction of the killers has reached $165,000 after an anonymous donor contributed $100,000 to the fund.
