Heiichiro Ohyama, assistant conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and music director of SummerFest ‘88, was in town Monday conducting his student orchestra in performances at three local schools. The 27-member chamber orchestra from Crossroads Junior High School in Santa Monica played for the students of Lewis Junior High, Gompers Secondary and La Jolla Country Day School. The La Jolla Chamber Music Society, which presents the annual SummerFest music festival, sponsored Crossroad’s San Diego visit.
