Snow Compressor Blast Kills 3 Ski Resort Workers

DAVIS, W. Va. — An oil line that separated from a huge air compressor is believed to have triggered an explosion that ripped through a maintenance shed at Canaan Valley Ski Resort, killing three workers and causing about $1 million in damage, a state official said Monday. Evidence at the site indicated that one of six snow compressors in the building had been started before the blast Sunday, officials said.
