Tom Milton of St. Petersburg, Fla., beat rookie sensation Rick Steelsmith of Wichita, Kan., 233-221, to win the $150,000 PBA Miller Lite Open bowling tournament at Miami.
After both players started the title game with four strikes, Milton spared in the fifth. Steelsmith, however, left a 4-6-7-10 split and could not spare.
The rookie never caught up, and Milton collected his fifth PBA victory and $27,000.
