UNDERCOVER COP

Regarding “High School Undercover,” by Margy Rochlin (Dec. 27/Jan. 3): Police actions are meant not only to capture and punish the guilty but also to protect the innocent. Sharon Fischer has a callous attitude toward the teen-age male in the case, Akili Calhoun, as witnessed by her quote: “He should feel bad, he ruined (my) career.” If this attitude prevails in upcoming police officers, they will create as many victims as they make arrests. Far more than her career, I worry about the scars on young Calhoun and his ability to trust others after being a youth who was so starkly manipulated by an adult “in the line of duty.”
