The 30-year-old La Mirada Mall at Rosecrans Avenue and La Mirada Boulevard in La Mirada, has been sold for $34 million to Hopkins Development Co., Newport Beach.
The 72-acre, 700,000-square-foot center will be redeveloped, with the creation of a 420,000-square-foot community shopping center on 48 acres and the construction of single-family houses on the remaining 24 acres, according to Steve Hopkins, president of Hopkins Development.
J. M. Peters Co. will build the single-family houses, according to Thomas Lenny of Hopkins Development. He added that the scaled-down shopping center will be better geared to the needs of the surrounding community.
