Local News in Brief : 1 Killed, 1 Hurt in Shootings

A 19-year-old man was killed and a 15-year-old boy critically injured this weekend in what police are calling unconnected gang shootings.
Danny McFrazier, 19, of Inglewood was shot in the back about 10 p.m. Friday by three men who confronted him on a street in Inglewood. He died two hours later in Centinela Hospital Medical Center. The three armed men shot at McFrazier and two other men walking with him along the 800 block of South Fir Avenue No one else was injured, police said.
Arrested on suspicion of murder were Stanley Cook, 21, and his brother, Villono, 19, both of an unincorporated part of Los Angeles County. Police are looking for a third man.
In the other shooting, 15-year-old Kimana Stamps of Carson was shot in the back of the head outside a house in the 1800 block of East Gladwick Street in Carson about 3 a.m. Saturday after a confrontation with two other teen-agers.
Stamps is in critical condition at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies said two to four shots were fired at Stamps, who was hit by a single bullet. Police are looking for the two teen-agers, described as black males, between 15 and 18 years old.
