The Clippers’ roster is down to 14 as the team cut two players and lost another when Tim Kempton signed to play in Europe Monday.
Kempton, a 6-foot 10-inch center from Notre Dame, signed a one-year contract with Naples of the Italian Major League after failing to come to terms with the Clippers. Kempton averaged 4.4 points last season as a rookie.
The Clippers cut guard Kim McCalister, a third-round draft choice from Oklahoma, and Chad Kessler, a 6-8 forward from Georgia who was a fifth-round choice. Assuming that guard Lancaster Gordon goes on injured reserve, the Clippers have to cut one more player before the season starts.
