The Navy has evidence suggesting that Soviet special forces may have broken into its base at Subic Bay in the Philippines and other U.S. installations in the Far East, Newsweek reported. The magazine, citing unidentified sources, said intruders who may have been elite spetsnaz commandos entered secure areas of the base from offshore but did no damage. It said they might have been testing their ability to enter undetected.
