Chapman’s Figueroa 9th in Cross-Country

Carla Figueroa of Chapman College finished in ninth place in the California Collegiate Athletic Assn. women’s cross-country championship Saturday at Cal State Northridge.
Figueroa completed the wet and muddy 5,000-meter course in 18 minutes 37 seconds. Chapman finished sixth in the team competition behind winner Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Carcy Arreola of Northridge was the individual winner in 17:58.
Chapman’s other finishers were Deidre Lowe, 31st in 20:54; Kyla Town, 33rd in 21:17; Denise Lipsett, 42nd in 23:27, and Jackie Navarrete, 44th in 24:17.
