Orange County College Roundup : UCI Rolls to 16-2 Water Polo Victory

The UC Irvine water polo team, ranked third in the nation, geared up for a big weekend against Stanford (No. 1) and California (No. 2) by easily defeating Cal State Los Angeles, 16-2, in a nonconference match at Heritage Park in Irvine.
Junior Kevin Wood led the Anteaters (5-2) with five goals and senior Mike Doting added three. Juniors Tony Bell and John Redd each had two.
In Golden State Athletic Conference men’s soccer:
Southern California 6, Christ College Irvine 0--Chris Zachariou scored twice to lead the Vanguards to a conference-opening victory. SCC is 3-6-1.
In nonconference men’s soccer action:
Cal Baptist 5, Pacific Christian College 1--Scott McKinney was Pacific Christian’s lone scorer as the school’s record fell to 0-7. Cal Baptist is 5-3.
In women’s volleyball play:
Chapman def. Biola, 3-2--Senior Tammy Light recorded 15 kills and sophomore Dana Beardsley added 9 kills and 25 assists as the Panthers (3-6) won, 10-15, 15-12, 9-15, 15-12, 15-7.
In Golden State Athletic Conference women’s volleyball:
Point Loma Nazarene College def. Southern California College, 3-0--Freshman Sally Voss had five kills and Laura Dequine recorded 12 digs as SCC (1-1, 5-9) won, 15-7, 15-8, 15-9.
