“Natasha.” Kultur. $39.95. Alas, home video emerged too late to catch Natalia Makarova in her glorious prime. Now 46, the ex-Kirov ballerina (nicknamed Natasha) looks spectacularly exotic in this 70-minute, 1985 showcase, but there’s a calculation to her dancing--a sense of limited technical resources restricting her expressive powers. Apart from two or three seconds of “Raymonda,” she ventures 20th-Century challenges: solos by Fokine, duets by Ashton and MacMillan (opposite Anthony Dowell), by Bejart and Petit (opposite Denys Ganio), plus a comedy scene from “On Your Toes” and new show-dance numbers (one with Gary Chryst). It’s all tastefully shot and edited--except for the ridiculous clouds of blue gas superimposed on “The Dying Swan.” Information: (800) 458-5887. ** 1/2
