A 40-year-old Northridge man died after the car he was driving sideswiped another vehicle on a freeway off-ramp, authorities said Sunday.
The victim made an unsafe lane change about 9:15 p.m. Saturday on the Pearblossom Highway off-ramp of the northbound Antelope Valley Freeway and struck the other car, said California Highway Patrol Officer Bill Burdick.
The victim’s car overturned, throwing him onto the pavement. He died about an hour later at Palmdale General Hospital, Burdick said. The victim’s name was withheld until relatives could be notified.
The driver of the other car, Cruz Aguirre, 20, of Valencia, and a passenger in the victim’s car, Dennis Bishop, 34, of Van Nuys, were treated at the same hospital for minor injuries.
