DONNA IN OZ

In the last two weeks, Donna Rice has covered the waterfronts (from Miami to Malibu) and the board rooms (from Manhattan to Hollywood). Ten days ago, she was in New York working with writer Elizabeth Nickles (“The Coming Matriarchy”) to collaborate on a book outline. It’ll be shopped by NYC agent Richard Curtis.
In Hollywood, Nickles introduced Rice to Todd Harris, a packaging agent who just joined Triad. For Harris, the first week on the job was the most fun: He and fellow Triadian Rob Lee got Donna Rice to agree to let them package her story--first interest came from ABC, which brought Rice to California. CBS also is interested in Rice, but primarily as an actress.
Said Lee, “These were we’ll-sit-down-and-talk sessions.” Added Harris: “We’ve not made any decisions and Donna came to us without any commitments.” Also reaching for Rice: “A bevy of managers,” according to Lee.
Is Donna Rice thrown? Could she be any more thrown than she’s already been? She sounded surprisingly lighthearted over the phone: “I don’t feel these people pressure you,” she said softly. “I just feel I have some choices to make.”
