One woman was stabbed to death and another suffered multiple knife wounds in a mid-day robbery in La Habra Heights. Sheriff’s deputies said a man and woman believed to be in their mid-20s forced their way into a home in the 1800 block of Tumin Road and stabbed both women before looting the premises. A woman said to be in her early 40s was pronounced dead at La Habra Community Hospital and the other, believed to be 19 years old, was reported in critical condition after surgery at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital of Whittier. Identities of both were withheld pending notification of their families. A sheriff’s spokesman said the younger woman was able to telephone for assistance after the attackers sped away in a late-model gold Toyota sedan.
