Former Raider-turned-actor John Matuszak fled the scene of a Hollywood traffic accident Friday night before police arrived, officers said.
The driver of the other car, Sean O’Hara, said the former defensive lineman attacked him, breaking a tooth. O’Hara said Matuszak, 36, also kicked dents in his car.
O’Hara, 28, was treated at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital. His employer, Fernando Rees, said O’Hara was bruised and received seven stitches on his face.
Rees said O’Hara would file assault and battery charges against Matuszak. Details of the incident were not immediately available, but police confirmed that Matuszak was involved in a two-car accident on Hollywood Boulevard about 6:50 p.m.
About two hours later, Matuszak phoned police and confirmed he was involved in the accident and had fled, said a traffic officer who declined to identify himself or elaborate.
The 6-foot 8-inch, 290-pound Matuszak retired in 1983 because of a bad back and went to work as a character actor in television and films.
