The Region : 4 Shot--2 Fatally--by Party-Crashers

Members of a youth gang crashed a party in Upland and began shooting, fatally injuring two teen-age cousins and injuring two other party-goers. Police said Fernando J. Gil, 15, who was shot in the chest, and his cousin, Raymond Caldera Jr., 17, wounded in the abdomen, died at San Antonio Community Hospital. John Nuno Jr., 21, was in serious condition at the same hospital, where he was under treatment for bullet wounds, and a 14-year-old boy was released after treatment at the scene for a minor wound. Investigating officers said there were about eight party-crashers, of whom four juvenile males were arrested and a fifth person, identified as Joseph Leyva, 18, of Ontario, was booked on suspicion of homicide.
