A Visalia man was found dead in the wreckage of his small plane, which crashed in a rugged, remote area near Newhall, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said. Authorities identified the victim as Frank C. Bernadic, 35. Sheriff’s Sgt. Ray Davis said the single-engine Cessna crashed at the bottom of a narrow 80-foot-deep canyon near Sierra Highway and the Newhall Refinery at 22674 Clampitt Road.
