Sun Likely Today, Rain Tuesday

A Pacific storm system passing through Southern California dropped a little more rain here and there Sunday, but forecasters said the sun should break through the clouds for a while today--before another spot of weather comes in Tuesday.
High temperature at San Diego’s Lindbergh Field on Sunday was 61 degrees, and the National Weather Service said only .02 of an inch had fallen there by early evening.
That brought the total for the season to 6.54 inches--nearly 3 inches less than the 9.76 inches that had fallen by this time in 1986, but .55 of an inch above the amount that would be statistically normal by this time of year.
Rainfall totals elsewhere in San Diego county were: Mt. Laguna and El Cajon, .12; La Mesa, San Diego State and Ramona, .11, and Lemon Grove, .09.
Forecasters said the coolness and moisture of the air mass behind Sunday’s cold front could cause dense fog in the valleys and along the coast overnight.
