Santa Ana : Ban on Emigration by Jews to Be Protested
- Share via
A rally to publicize the plight of Jews barred from leaving the Soviet Union will be held Feb. 26 at the Orange County Hall of Administration Plaza.
The noon rally is one of many that will be held the same day across the nation and in 43 other countries, according to the Orange County regional office of the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith, an event sponsor. The rally will be highlighted by the reading of names of Soviet “refuseniks.”
Local, state and federal elected officials have been invited to participate in the gathering, which is intended to dramatize and publicize the “languishing” of many Soviet Jews who have been denied exit visas, an ADL spokesman said in a prepared statement.
