NEW YORK — The Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith released a 931-page, telephone book-sized volume Thursday listing the names and addresses of 11,000 Soviet Jews denied permission to emigrate.
It “is a list of heroes,” said Burton Levinson, the organization’s national chairman.
Titled “A Uniquely Jewish List: The Refuseniks of Russia,” the directory is being sent to members of Congress, the State Department and other federal agencies.
Beginning with the town of Aktash and ending with Yalta, the directory is organized alphabetically by city and includes only those Jews who have been refused more than once.
