Beverly Hills-based American Medical International Inc., which owns, operates and develops hospitals and health-care services in the United States and obroad, reported net income for the first quarter of fiscal 1987 ended Nov. 30 equalled earnings for the same period the prior year. However, revenue increased $126.6 million. These results represent a significant first step in the revitalization of earnings strength at AMI, a spokesman said. The firm reorganized management and operating structure eliminated or divested operations that no longer fit strategic goals and intensified efforts to manage costs and improve efficiency, the spokesman added.
