Attendance at Disney theme parks rose 8% in ’86.

In its annual report mailed recently to shareholders, Walt Disney Co. reported that attendance increased nearly 11% from the prior year at Walt Disney World in Florida, but only 2% at Disneyland in Anaheim. The company noted that Disneyland had enjoyed strong attendance the previous year due to a 30th-anniversary celebration. For the past two years, the company has discontinued its former practice of disclosing attendance figures on a quarterly basis.
