Playoffs to Be Revised

This will be the last year that the state basketball playoffs will be divided into three divisions.
In 1987 the playoff system will be revised to five divisions. The change is necessary “to accommodate smaller schools” according to the state associate commissioner of athletics, Margaret Davis.
Section champions from 5-A and 4-A brackets are now in Division I, 3-A and 2-A champions advance to Division II and 1-A and Small Schools are in Division III.
Exact details of the switch have not been made public.
“We’re still fine-tuning the changes,” Davis said.
