A 70-pound mountain lion has been captured in the Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park near San Juan Capistrano, where two of the big cats have mauled children in the last seven months. But the adult female was examined and released after state Department of Fish and Game officials found no evidence to link the cougar to attacks on humans. Terry M. Mansfield, biologist and wildlife management supervisor for the state agency, said the cat was fitted with a radio collar to learn more about the movements of the wide-ranging animals in and around the Orange County park. “Should we get the lion in hand that was involved (in the attack), we would take that lion out of the wild,” Mansfield said.
