Chicago-based Navistar International, the descendant of International Harvester, has named James Cotting to the posts of chairman and chief executive, replacing Donald Lennox, who will step down Feb. 28. Lennox, who has served as chief executive since December, 1982, will continue as a director. Neil Springer, Navistar’s current president and chief executive, will become chairman and chief executive of the firm’s truck and engine operating unit.
