Harvey’s 9 Goals Lead UCI in Water Polo Split

Julian Harvey scored nine goals Sunday as the UC Irvine water polo team split games during the last day of the 49er Invitational Tournament in Long Beach’s Belmont Plaza Pool.
Harvey and Tom Warde scored five goals each as the Anteaters, ranked No. 7 nationally, defeated USC, 14-9.
UCI led the game, 10-3, at halftime and held off a late rally by USC, the No. 4 team in the nation.
Harvey had four goals as UCI (12-10) lost to No. 2-ranked Cal, 10-8. Ward and Dan Smoot added two goals each in that game.
