At least seven people, three of them children, were injured today in an eight-vehicle freeway accident in which 97 canisters of resin spilled onto the southbound Harbor Freeway.
California Highway Patrol officers diverted all southbound traffic from the freeway at the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard onramp to the Santa Monica Freeway, said CHP Officer Lujuanna Lopez. She said traffic in the area was backed up for miles. The canisters spilled from an overturned truck in the traffic pileup and spread the substance for 50 yards, Lopez said.
